Vista Woods Care Center has confirmed that 2 residents in their facility are positive for COVID-19.
According to a press release, Vista Woods Care Center ha acknowledged that two residents in their Ottumwa facility have tested positive for COVID-19. They are currently receiving appropriate medical care and will remain in isolation for 14 days. Vista Woods staff are in contact with the families of those patients and are doing everything they can to support them.
Vista Woods states that they are following all protocols to limit the spread of COVID-19 within their facility. They are working with local and state officials to ensure the proper steps are being taken. Vista Woods has also restricted visitors from entering the facility and has suspended any group activities.
Due to patient privacy laws. Vista Woods is unable to release any further specific information about the confirmed cases in their facility. They will be in close contact with state and local officials as well as the CDC in order to properly handle the situation.
