Supreme court to consider Fairfield case

The Iowa Supreme court will consider the case of a Fairfield man charged with Murder in the second degree.  Tyler Webster was convicted after a jury trial in 2013.  He is charged in connection with the death of Buddy Frisbie also of Fairfield.

The Iowa court of appeals came back with a split decision for a new trial based on claims of a juror’s misconduct after the trial.

The State of Iowa through the Iowa Attorney General office requested the Iowa Supreme Court to further review the Iowa Court of Appeals decision.   Should the Iowa Supreme Court agree with the court of Appeals a retrial will be held in Jefferson County.
