SE Iowa Man Sentenced on Gun and Drug Charges

A southeast Iowa man was recently sentenced on felony gun and drug charges.

A Henry County judge ordered 28-year-old Trey Lewis of Mount Pleasant to serve two five-year sentences concurrently on charges of dominion/control of a firearm by a felon and possession with intent to deliver less than 50 grams of marijuana, both class D felonies.

Court records say Lewis conspired with an accomplice to sell marijuana from his residence. Additionally, in July 2021, Lewis fired multiple rounds across the Skunk River by the dam at Oakland Mills Park. Lewis was seen entering a vehicle with two juveniles and driving away. Henry County deputies were later able to locate the car and identify Lewis as the culprit. A search warrant of his home uncovered marijuana, containers, and baggies.

Lewis has also been charged with two counts of child endangerment and possession of a dangerous weapon while under the influence. A judgment has not been rendered on those charges.
