SE Iowa Drug Task Force Arrests Ottumwa Man


An Ottumwa man is facing charges after a raid by the SE Iowa Drug Task Force.

According to a press release from Jason Bell of the Ottumwa Police Department, on Friday, February 18, 2022, at approximately 11:55 a.m., officers from the Ottumwa Police Department, Wapello County Sheriff’s Department and the Southeast Iowa Inter-Agency Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at a residence on Minneopa Ave. in Ottumwa.

As a result of result of the search, Jeromy Scott Stevens, age 45, of Ottumwa was arrested and charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (D Class Felony), outstanding warrants for driving while barred and eluding, Possession of Ammunition by a Prohibited Person (Class D Felony), and 7 counts of Unlawful Possession of Prescription Medications (all Serious Misdemeanors). Stevens is being held in jail until his bond amount is set during his initial arraignment.

As a reminder, a criminal charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Those prescription drugs are getting circulated more than I have seen illegal drugs when I was working there was people from the half way house passing drugs to each other at the place where the bus stopped at Market.My half brother had a garbage bag full of prescription lexapro back in 2007 and offered me some I told someone at First Resources about it!
