Scot Vaun Cooprider, age 57, of Centerville, Iowa passed away Saturday, January 29, 2022.
Scot was born in Decatur, Illinois on December 22, 1964, the son of Kathryn “Kathy” Elaine Goodrich and Lawrence Cooprider. A national honor society student throughout high school, Scot graduated from Arthur High School in Arthur, Illinois.
Following his graduation from high school, Scot held many jobs throughout his lifetime. His eventual relocation to Centerville, Iowa led to his employment with Hill Phoenix, a position he maintained for many years.
A highly intelligent individual, Scot could build anything he put his mind to, such as an entertainment system for his brother Sean and custom car stereo systems for his nephews Jonathon and Christopher.
Left to cherish Scot’s memory include his three siblings, Sean (Becky) Cooprider of Centerville, Iowa, Joel (Angie) Cooprider of Argenta-Oreana, Illinois, and Laurie (Andrew) Evans of Decatur, Illinois; three nephews, Jonathon Cooprider, Christopher Cooprider, and Marlin Baker; four nieces, Maiyanna Baker, Malia Davis, Victoria Castelli, and Emily Castelli; as well as great nephews and a great niece.
Scot was preceded in death by his parents, Kathy Cooprider and Lawrence Cooprider; and his maternal grandparents, Riley and Lois Goodrich.
Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia with Pastor Christy Ehrle officiating. A memorial has been established to the American Diabetes Association and may be mailed to Lange Funeral Home and Crematory, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, IA 52544.
