(Ottumwa)— Ottumwa Radio news has learned the Salvation Army’s “Meals on Wheels” program will be discontinued on May 31st.
Cpt. Ruth from the Salvation Army in Ottumwa told Ottumwa Radio News the program has become a financial burden for the Salvation Army. Thus the meal site will be closed.
Cpt. Ruth says an announcement was made Thursday afternoon to patrons who utilize the program. In addition, Cpt. Ruth says the Salvation Army has been working with the Seneca Agency on Aging to continue the program.
Again, the Salvation Army in Ottumwa has announced their Meals on Wheels program will be discontinued on May 31st.
