Ottumwa Woman Wins Big in Lottery

The Iowa Lottery announced an Ottumwa woman won the top prize of a new lottery game.

Maria Alvarado stopped by Iowa Lottery headquarters in Clive last Monday to claim the $50,000 prize of the “5 of Hearts” scratch game, which began sales last month. Alvarado purchased her winning ticket at Kum & Go in Pleasant Hill.

“5 of Hearts” is a game with a playing card theme that costs $5 per ticket.
