Ottumwa woman pleads guilty to assault charges


A 29 year old Ottumwa woman charged with Willful Injury following an incident last year has entered a plea of guilty.

On November 6th of last year Ashley Nicole Weir was arrested after she reportedly stabbed her boyfriend. The incident occurred at an apartment building in downtown Ottumwa.

When officers arrived on the scene, they found Kaz Long, an assistant Wapello County Defender and Weir in the apartment. Weir admitted to stabbing Long.

Earlier this week, Weir entered a guilty plea to Willful Injury.
