Ottumwa Radio to Carry 5 High School Summer Teams

The Ottumwa Radio Sports Network continues to expand its area-leading coverage of high school athletics.  This summer, the network will broadcast five summer sports teams across four stations.

1240 KBIZ, of course, continues to be the home of Ottumwa High baseball and softball.  Between the two teams, KBIZ and “Voice of the Bulldogs” Jason Van Arkel will broadcast 55 regular-season games, as well as all postseason games.  The baseball season begins May 27th at Centerville, and the softball season starts May 30th at Mount Pleasant.

Davis County baseball once again finds its home on New Country 104.3 KRKN.  Every Mustang game will be heard live and in its entirety.  Bloomfield native Jeff Downing takes over as the “Voice of the Mustangs.”

For the first time, a full season of Van Buren baseball will be heard on 92.7 KTWA.  Longtime high school coach and announcer Frank Parsons will be on the microphone as the Warriors try to get back to the Class 1A championship game.

The other newcomer to the lineup is the Pekin Panthers, who will make their home on 101.5 Kiss FM.  Panther fans can hear veteran announcer Scott Fraise call all the action all summer long.
