OHS Girls, Boys Come Up Short vs. Ankeny

The Ottumwa girls and boys basketball teams dropped a pair of CIML crossover games to Ankeny Tuesday night at Evans Middle School.

In the girls contest, OHS was tied with the Hawkettes at 14 early in the second quarter, only to see Ankeny take control with a 17-0 run. That proved to be the final margin in a 62-45 loss. Grace Bookin-Nosbisch led the Bulldogs with 16 points, while twin sister Alli Bookin-Nosbisch added 13. Ottumwa falls to 5-4 on the season.

In the boys matchup, Ankeny could never really put Ottumwa away, but the Bulldogs could never quite come back. The Hawks lead swung between three and ten points most of the night, before Ankeny prevailed 57-47. Kie Glosser led OHS with 14 points, and Trae Swartz added 11. Ottumwa now sits at 3-6.

The Bulldog girls and boys return to CIML Metro Conference action Friday night on the road at Des Moines East. As always, you can hear Ottumwa basketball on 1240 AM/102.7 FM KBIZ, and watch the live video stream here on this website.
