Norman William Hefner, age 87, of Seymour, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021 at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon.

Norman William Hefner was born on June 4, 1934 to William Robert and Harriett Marie (Hart) Hefner in Jerome, Iowa.  He joined a sister, Shirley Colleen.  Norman attended school in Jerome and graduated from Seymour High School with the Class of 1952.  On August 29, 1953, he was united in marriage to his High School sweetheart, Bonnadene Wilson.  To this union were born, Mark, Roma and Henry.  An infant son, David died at birth.

Norman farmed his entire life, and was happiest on his tractor or combine, taking care of his cows or cutting firewood.  As his health failed, he still loved to take his chain saw to the timber, but enjoyed just sitting there and maybe cutting a little firewood.  He and Bonnadene enjoyed many day trips to Des Moines until her health failed.  Norman was quiet about his faith, but it was important to him.  He accepted Christ as his Savior and dearly enjoyed his SS classes and church services.  They had many dear friends at church.

Left to honor Norman’s memory are his children, Mark Hefner, Roma (Mark) Snook and Henry Hefner; eight grandchildren, Norm Hefner, Megan (Brandon) Houser, Luke (Angel) Hefner, Cassie (Chester) Parrish, Joshua (Jeanna) Snook, Heidi (Nathan) Alexander, Noah (Eryn) Hefner, and Hanah Hefner; sixteen great-grandchildren, Taigen, Trent, Seth, Abby, Ellie, Liam, Cameron, Merick, Shelby, Declan, McKenzie, Payton, Jarek, Amelia, Elias and Violet; as well as many other extended family and friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnadene; his parents, WR and Harriett Hefner; his sister, Colleen and her husband, Bill Henderson; and an infant son, David.
