A two-vehicle accident injured a pair of motorists Tuesday evening in Monroe County.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, 59-year-old James Eddy of Numa was operating a 2008 Ford 500 east on Highway 34 and was approaching the Highway T61 intersection.
26-year-old Bruce Link of Irondale, Missouri was driving a pickup truck that was pulling a car trailer with another vehicle on it. Link was traveling southbound on Highway T61 but authorities say he failed to yield at a stop sign and ran into the path of Eddy’s Ford.
The Ford broadsided the truck and both vehicles wound up in a ditch.
Both Eddy and Link were injured in the wreck and transported to a hospital. Their respective conditions are unknown.
The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office in the investigation.
