Legacy Foundation Accepting Applications for First Grant Cycle of 2022


The Ottumwa Legacy Foundation announced it is accepting applications for the first grant cycle of 2022.

Any 501(c)(3) nonprofit operating in Wapello County is eligible to apply for the Bright Ideas Community Enrichment Fund. The Legacy Foundation says has awarded nearly $4.5 million to 108 organizations since 2011.

According to a press release, the Bright Ideas Grants are competitive, single-year awards ranging from $2,500 to $30,000 with an emphasis given to projects that positively impact Wapello County residents.

Additionally, the Legacy Youth Alliance grant program provides funds up to $2,500 to qualifying youth-led projects and organizations. The Youth Alliance has awarded over $84,000 to 40 projects.
