Kenneth M. Malcom, 46, of Creston, formerly of Ottumwa, died Sunday, July 7, 2019 at his home in Creston. A Celebration of Life Visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 11, 2019 from 1 to 4 p.m. at The Gathering Room 501 N. Sheridan Avenue in Ottumwa. Powers Funeral Home in Creston is assisting with arrangements. Kenneth Michael Malcom, was born to William Floyd Malcom and Mary Jo (Rollins) Malcom, on October 19, 1971 in Perry, Iowa. He was educated in Ottumwa schools. Kenneth then moved to Des Moines, then Centerville, Clarinda and then to Creston in 2017. Kenneth had worked as a carpenter doing construction work. Kenneth was interested in Star Wars and Star Trek, and was an avid collector. He also enjoyed military memorabilia. He was very proud of his son, Zac and granddaughter, Jayda.
Survivors include his son, Zac Malcom (fiancée Terry Lynn) of Des Moines; granddaughter, Jayda Malcom; three sisters, Jenny Graves of Newton, Chris (Scott) Heller of Ottumwa, and Kelly Malcom of Centerville; and several nieces and nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
