The Jefferson County Fair Board met Wednesday night and made the decision to cancel the 2020 fair, according to a post on the Greater Jefferson County Fair Facebook page.
Board president Mike Filson said in a statement “with the COVID-19 pandemic not subsiding and restrictions still in place, we made the tough decision to postpone the Greater Jefferson County Fair until June 2021.”
The fair was originally scheduled for June 22nd through June 29th. Filson says the 4H will hold some type of projects shows during this time period. The choice on whether to have the displays virtually or show and go will be made at a later date.
The Greater Jefferson County Fair has been held in Fairfield since 1851.
