Officials in Fairfield have completed their investigation into the death of an out of state man.
Mark Kneeskern was found laying on the Burlington Northern Sante Fe railroad tracks in Fairfield several weeks ago. The investigation indicated there is no evidence the death was caused by either a homicide or suicide.
Kneeskern was observed laying on the southbound tracks partially on the tracks. Crews from the train immediately activated the train’s emergency braking system and activated the train’s horn. Kneeskern did not respond to the warnings and did not appear to move.
Authorities say there is no evidence at this time to explain why Kneeskern was on the tracks. The only evidence identified from an autopsy that might be of concern is that Kneeskern’s blood alcohol content level was significantly high.
