During Wednesday’s press conference, Governor Kim Reynolds announced more businesses will be allowed to reopen at the end of the week.
“Effective on Friday, movie theaters, zoos, aquariums, museums, and wedding reception venues will be permitted to reopen with appropriate health measures in place,” Reynolds said. “Swimming pools will be reopening for lap swimming and swimming lessons.”
Additionally, the governor says bars can reopen on Thursday, May 28th at 50 percent capacity.
Reynolds says she will be working closely with the Iowa Department of Public Health to evaluate the state’s strategy and see if any changes need to be made. She says she will speak more on the subject next week. The governor’s statewide Disaster Proclamation is set to expire on May 27th.
