During Monday’s press conference, Governor Kim Reynolds announced a coronavirus test site will be opening in Ottumwa later this week.
The governor started the press conference mentioned the first and subsequent outbreaks of the novel coronavirus in Iowa, the steps to increase testing in the affected areas, and the downtrend in cases of the virus.
“Expanding testing in a targeted way such as this helps us confirm how the virus is spreading and while it drives our positive case count up for the short term, more importantly, it informs us how to effectively manage virus activity for the long term.”
Reynolds announced that a test site will open in Ottumwa starting on Wednesday at The Beach Ottumwa. The governor did not offer any details as far as prerequisites or availability for testing.
Ottumwa Radio News will provide updates for this developing story.
