Thanks to the United Way’s Day of Caring’s volunteers from Gatton Realty and MidwestOne Bank, and to Paint Iowa Beautiful, MCRF got some painting and cleaning of equipment done at the Lacey Recreation Complex on Thursday September 11th. Midwest One Bank sent two teams totaling 13 people to paint the sports storage building with Diamond Vogel paint received by MCRF earlier this year from a Paint Iowa Beautiful grant. Gatton Realty sent a team of four to help clean youth sports equipment collected with the ‘bring old shoes to the Old Shoe game’ second year running as part of MCRF’s “Play It Forward” program. “It’s exciting to see community groups come together to help at the complex and to help each other with these programs.” said MCRF Executive Director Sherry Vavra, “We couldn’t do all that we do if it weren’t for many volunteers coming together for different projects, thanks everyone!” Altogether the 17 volunteers gave over 50 hours to the complex projects.
