A head on collision on Highway 63 injured a total of five people Tuesday afternoon.
The Iowa State Patrol says a pickup truck driven by 24-year-old Tate Simmers of Ottumwa was traveling southbound on the highway. A minivan driven by Gabriel Morrissey of Drakesville was traveling northbound.
According to the accident report, the truck crossed the center line and struck the minivan head on. Simmers transported to Des Moines and Morrissey was transported to Iowa City. 18-year-old Caleb Morrissey and two minors were also injured. The three were taken to Ottumwa Regional Health Center with undisclosed injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
