Investigators from the National Transportation Safety Board say mechanical failure was the cause of plane crash in Fairfield last summer that result in the death of the pilot.
The crash occurred on June 22nd after the plane piloted by Robert Bolinger landed in a corn field moments after taking off.
Investigators say during an examination of the accident site all of the plane’s structure was found except for the propeller blades. The blades were found the next day as the airport manager was moving grass. Investigators were unable to determine why the propellers separated from the plane.
