Cardinal, EBF, Van Buren Hosting Baseball Tournaments

The 2014 high school baseball season is in full swing, and this weekend is a busy one for area teams.  Three area schools have a full Saturday of baseball as they play host to all-day tournaments.

Cardinal plays host to a three-team, round-robin tournament on Saturday, starting at 10am when they take on Davis County.  The second game of the day features Davis County and Tri-County, with Cardinal facing Tri-County in the final game.  The first two games of the tournament will be broadcast on 104.3 KRKN.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont’s annual tournament features four teams and four games, starting with the Rockets facing North Mahaska in a 10am matchup.  The noon game matches Pekin and Pella Christian.  The consolation game is scheduled for 2pm, followed by the championship game at 4pm.  101.5 Kiss FM will carry both of Pekin’s games in the tournament.

Van Buren also hosts its annual four-team tournament this weekend.  The Warriors open with a 10am game against Winfield-Mount Union, followed by Central Lee facing Harmony.  Again, the consolation game is at 2pm with the championship game at 4pm.  Van Buren’s games will be heard on 92.7 KTWA.
