The Ottumwa High girls and boys bowling teams wrapped up their seasons Wednesday morning, competing in the 2015 Class 3A State Bowling Tournament in Des Moines.
The Bulldog girls came up just short in their quest for another state team championship, finishing second in the team race behind only Johnston. OHS also placed two bowlers in the top five, with junior Bailey Palmer finishing 3rd with a score of 447 and senior Cheyanne Starr right behind her in 4th with a score of 437.
The Bulldog boys finished a bit farther back in the pack, coming in at sixth place in the boys team race. Marshalltown won the team title. Ottumwa’s highest individual finisher was senior Jordan Mitchell, who placed 12th with a score of 422.
Wednesday’s state tournament marked the final winter sports competition for Ottumwa High this season.
