Bonnie R. Huddleston, 88, of Ottumwa, died at 1:35 p.m. January 16, 2022 at Vista Woods Care Center.
She was born March 18, 1933 in Wapello County, IA to Lawrence “Deke” and Celetha Viola Haines McCoy. Bonnie married James H. “Jim” Huddleston on April 1, 1951 and he preceded her in death on March 7, 2021.
A 1950 graduate of Agency High School, Bonnie had worked at Sunnyslope, Standard Kollsman, Red Dot and for Dr. Henry Hammer, retiring in 1990.
Bonnie enjoyed gardening, crocheting and crafting.
Surviving are her three children, Walter Kent (Rhea) Huddleston of Bonaparte, Rae Lynne (Kerry) Albertson of Fremont and Lu Anne (Greg) Johnson of Lenexa, KS; eight grandchildren, Augustus B. (Bethany) Huddleston, Caleb L. Huddleston, Ryan R. (Heather) Thompson, Rick J. (Jessica) Thompson, Amy N. (Andrew) Hayes, Kristofer M. (Lisa) Davis, Chris (Becky) Albertson, and Dustin Albertson; 12 great- grandchildren, Dakota, Madison, August and Cierra Huddleston, Carter, Caysen, Chase and Reese Thompson, Natalie and MaKenna Albertson, Natalie and James Daniel “Jack” Davis and one on the way; a great-great-grandson; siblings, Stephen “Doug” McCoy, David McCoy, Dick (Vickie) McCoy and Judy Jordan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lisa Gay Huddleston and siblings, Rose McKinney, Georgia “Dode” Jones, LaVerne “Bub” McCoy, Betty Walker and Linda Berry.
Visitation will be open after 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service Wednesday.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Hornback officiating. For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed live on the Reece Funeral Home Facebook page. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties.
