Arson Investigation Leads to Arrests

On Tuesday, August 26, 2014, the Ottumwa Fire Department responded to a house fire at 122 S. Fellows in Ottumwa.  The fire was suspicious in nature and an investigation was initiated.  As a result of the investigation, the following people have been arrested:

William Patrick Davis, age 20, of 923 Plum, Ottumwa, was arrested on 09-04-14 and charged with Arson in the 1st Degree, a Class “B” Felony, Possession of a Incendiary Device with Intent, a Class “C” Felony, Burglary in the 2nd Degree, a Class ”C” Felony, and Criminal Mischief 1st Degree, a Class “C” Felony.  Davis is being held in the Wapello County Jail on a $60,000 cash only bond.

Austin James Tollenaar, age 19, of 926 S. Lillian, was arrested on 09-04-14 and charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, a Class “D” Felony.  Tollenaar was also charged with an additional charge of Interference with Official Acts, a simple misdemeanor, for resisting officers during his arrest.  Tollenaar is being held in the Wapello County Jail with a $5,000 cash only bond.

Tyler Allen Wayne Hartman, age 17, of 209 W. 5th, Ottumwa, was arrested on 09-04-14 and charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree, a Class “D” Felony.  Hartman was released to his parents after his arrest.
