DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHSBCA) has released their All-State teams for the 2020 season with several area athletes being recognized.
In Class 1A, Pekin First Baseman Kennan Winn was placed on the Second Team. Winn hit .469 on the season with four home runs, 17 RBIs, 16 runs scored, and nine stolen bases.
Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Outfielders, Kalen Walker and Jared McCrea, were placed on the 2A Second and Third Team, respectively. Walker batted .426 with a team-high 24 runs scored and the second-most steals in the state with 33. McCrea hit a team-high .438 and recorded the top RBI total with 18.
Centerville had three players selected: Outfielder Brady Kauzlarich made the First Team, Merrick Mathews Second Team Utility, and Third Baseman McCain Oden on the Third Team. Kauzlarich led the Big Reds with a .455 batting average, 23 runs, and 24 stolen bases. Mathews hit .438, recorded 13 runs batted in, and scored 11 runs. Oden batted .393 with nine extra base hits, 16 RBIs, and 21 runs scored.
And Oskaloosa’s Tyler Miller is on the Second Team as an Outfielder. Miller hit .429 to lead the Indians, while also adding three home runs and 16 RBIs.
The IHSBCA said there is no Super Team this year due to COVID-19.
