Prep Baseball: 7 Area Players Earn IHSBCA All-State Honors

The Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association released its 2017 All-State selections on Monday, a list that included seven players from area schools. Two of those players, Fairfield’s Cam Baumann and Twin Cedars’ Trace Embray, made first team all-state, while the other five were second-team selections. The full list:

CLASS 4A

Austin Shotts, Ottumwa: 2nd team all-state, 3rd base

.476, 1 home run, 25 RBI, 4 triples, 10 doubles, 17 stolen bases

 

CLASS 3A

Cam Baumann, Fairfield: 1st team all-state, utility

4-2, 2.18 ERA, 78 strikeouts; .374, 2 home runs, 34 RBI, 3 triples, 8 doubles, 9 stolen bases

Tyler Miller, Oskaloosa: 2nd team all-state, outfield

.444, 22 RBI, 1 triple, 7 doubles, 23 stolen bases

 

CLASS 2A

Treye Rinehart, Centerville: 2nd team all-state, utility

.409, 7 home runs, 42 RBI, 3 triples, 13 doubles

 

CLASS 1A

Trace Embray, Twin Cedars: 1st team all-state, utility

8-2, 0.90 ERA, 98 strikeouts; .440, 4 home runs, 32 RBI, 1 triple, 7 doubles, 33 stolen bases

Tucker Babbit, Moravia: 2nd team all-state, 3rd base

.413, 1 home run, 20 RBI, 2 triples, 5 doubles, 23 stolen bases

Avery Moore, Sigourney: 2nd team all-state, outfield

.477, 1 home run, 19 RBI, 9 doubles, 14 stolen bases
